Smoke/Air Quality Update

We have received calls at the fire station regarding the smoke in the air. There are NO active wildfires in the region. The smoke is brought to us from Minnesota and Canada, where there are over 900 wildfires. As soon as the jet stream shifts, the smoke should clear out.

There are two good sources for local updates. Allegan County Emergency Management and Allegan County Health Dept. will be sharing messaging on their social media platforms. These are both good sites to follow BEFORE and during an emergency.
