Rookie firefighter gets right to work

Our featured member today is Jacob Infante. He has been a paid on-call member of the Graafschap Fire Department since late 2023.

Jacob shows the enthusiasm for the job that is greatly appreciated by his peers. He graduated from the Allegan County Fire Academy in June of 2024 and started right into EMT school. He will graduate with his EMT class in a couple months after passing the National Registry EMT Exam.

When he is not being a new firefighter, Jacob drives a semi truck for a local farm hauling livestock and feed. In his time off, he enjoys taking extended hikes in the U.P. and all over the country. He plans to build his own home someday, right here in the district.

When one of us is working, we all work until the task is complete. Jacob embodies this attitude and gives us his all when called upon.

Recently, he represented Graafschap Fire Department in the Fire Prevention Parade in downtown Holland. At the conclusion of the parade, Graafschap firefighters set up a handline for the kids to use.

As you can see by the pictures, he enjoys what he does. We are glad to have him as part of the team for many years to come.
