2026 Scholarship Winner Announced

Just before our regular training meeting last night, we handed out the 2026 Friends of the Graafschap Fire Department (FOGFD) Scholarship. Below is Elina McGee receiving her award along with a check for $500.

Elina’s essay (shown below) was chosen by a panel of local retired educators and a journalist. All applicants name’s were redacted to provide anonymity so all the essays were given an equal chance to be evaluated. The members of the Graafschap Fire Department, judges, and supporters of the FOGFD would like to thank all applicants for their essays. They all were well written by ambitious young adults and are all headed in a good direction!
